OBJECTIVES
To optimize the management of cancers occurring in immunocompromised individuals through the acquisition of knowledge :
- Causes of acquired immunodepression: transplantation, HIV infection
- Infections induced by immunosuppression, risk factors for cancer in the immunocompromised
- Epidemiology and clinical, biological and morphological presentations of cancers occurring in immunocompromised individuals
TARGET AUDIENCE AND PREREQUISITES
- General Practitioners,
- Specialists: medical oncologists, radiation oncologists, hematologists, organ oncologists, infectious diseases, internal medicine, immunologists, virologists, surgeons, pharmacologists,
- Pharmacists,
- Medical interns from previous specialties and pharmacy interns,
- Others (on a case-by-case basis: advice from DU managers).
PROGRAM
- Main principles of organ transplantation and hematopoietic stem cell transplantation,
- Epidemiology and mechanisms of action of the main oncogenic viruses: HIV, EBV, HHV8, HBV, HCV…
- Epidemiology and characteristics of the main cancers occurring in the immunocompromised person,
- Current therapies,
- Update on new anti-tumor and anti-virus therapies (immunomodulators, cell therapies…),
- Reminder of current recommendations for the management of cancer in immunocompromised individuals,
- Main drug interactions between anti-virals, immunosuppressants and anti-cancer treatments

METHODS
Duration of the theoretical courses: 50 hours,
Duration of directed and practical courses: 20 hours,
Mandatory one-week internship in the Medical Oncology Department or the Clinical Hematology Department (Pitié-Salpêtrière)
Possibility of attending dedicated ONCOVIH or k-virogref PCRs (upon registration)
TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF KNOWLEDGE CONTROL
- Written exam of 2 hours in May, coefficient 1/1, marked out of 20.
- Oral examination before the jury marked out of 20.
- Validation of one week of internship.
Requirements for admission:
- Attendance to all courses and TD of the DU (except justified absence).
- Attendance at the course.
- Minimum grade 12/20 – Written /Oral not compensable.
- No make-up session.
