OBJECTIVES

The general objective of this DU is to provide training, by recognized experts, to acquire and optimize the knowledge necessary for the management of fertility in cancer patients.

Business Objectives:

  • Know the effects of therapeutics and cancer on gonadal function.
  • To know the techniques of fertility preservation and restoration and their limits in order to adapt the techniques of fertility preservation to the risk of gonadal toxicity.
  • Have knowledge of what to do in the event of cancer in a pregnant woman.
  • Know all the links and aspects of fertility and gonadal function, before, during and after cancer.

TARGET AUDIENCE AND PREREQUISITES

  • This diploma is open to doctors, pharmacists and scientists specializing in Biology and Reproductive Medicine, as well as to students (interns, heads of clinics, etc.) from the various training courses in this field (DES in medical biology, obstetrics, medical gynecology, endocrinology, etc.). This diploma is also open to oncologists and hematologists wishing to approach this very specific field of their activity.
  • It will also be open to hematopoietic stem cell transplant nurse coordinators, laboratory technicians, psychologists and any health professional with an interest in this topic (general practitioners, etc.).
  • In addition, in order to meet the training obligations of liberal and salaried health professionals, the Continuing Medical Education Department, an organization approved by the National Agency for CPD, is offering 6 CPD sessions in “Procreation and Cancer”. PROGRAM

70 hours of theoretical teaching, spread over 2 weeks in class:

  • Module 1, General (36 h):
    • Cancer biology and gonadal function,
    • Cancer treatments,
    • Preservation and restoration of female fertility,
    • Preservation and restoration of male fertility,
    • Regulation of fertility preservation and other parenting methods.
  • Module 2: Women, cancer, fertility, fertility preservation and pregnancy (15 h)
  • Module 3: Fertility preservation for children and adolescents (7 hrs).
  • Module 4: Hematological pathologies, fertility and fertility preservation (7 h)
  • Oral presentation of the memoirs to all the trainees: feedback and knowledge sharing (5 h)
  • 6 hrs of practical training:

Attend two fertility preservation consultations with a training officer at Hôpital Saint-Louis (2 half days).

  • 24 hours of personal work for a thesis.
