OBJECTIVES

General Objective:

To train patient-experts to accompany the cancer care pathway in partnership and in support with caregivers involved in the coordination of the patient pathway.
To train health and social professionals in the integration of expert patients in the cancer patient pathway.

Secondary Objectives:
To acquire and deepen knowledge in the field of oncology and the organization of care, and to optimize experiential knowledge.
Develop a model for supporting and coordinating the patient journey
To master the use of practical tools to support and coordinate the patient’s journey in cancerology.
Strengthen communication skills for the benefit of a partnership relationship.
Participate in improving the quality of the cancer care pathway at every stage.

 

PROGRAM

  • Module 1: (2 days) Cancerology: legislative and regulatory framework of the Cancer Plan, medical aspects, public health, biology, epidemiology, place of patient partners.
  • Module 2: (3 days) Cancer patient pathway: health pathway, care pathway, personalized care plan, actors, stages, contents.
  • Module 3: (3 days) Place, role and posture of patient partners in oncology: Where? When? With whom? How do you do it?
  • Module 4: (3 days): Skills and tools of the patient partner in the accompaniment of the patient throughout his journey.
  • Module 5: (3 days) Which communication strategies and tools to use for the development and implementation of the patient-partner in oncology.

METHODS

The duration of studies is set at 120 hours of teaching spread over one academic year:

  • 98 hours of face-to-face teaching divided into 7 two-day sessions organized between October and September (14 hours of teaching per session) in face-to-face or distance learning mode
  • 22 hours of personal and collaborative work and distance learning.

Optional internship.

Capacity: maximum 25 participants

 

TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF KNOWLEDGE CONTROL

The validation of the DU will be based on:

  • The production of a written document articulating the highlights of the training to an engineering project on the implementation of patient partners in cancerology.
  • An oral presentation of the main skills developed by the student during the academic year in relation to the training framework.
    To be admitted, students must have a grade point average and have attended at least 70% of the total duration of the course (except in exceptional circumstances to be evaluated on a case-by-case basis by the pedagogical directors).

Every exam has 2 sessions including a make-up session.

Defense: June 20 and 21, 2023 in-class or distance learning (date to be confirmed).
